Lake County’s own senator Mike McGuire has been appointed state Senate majority leader, making him the second highest ranking member of the state Senate. During his tenure, McGuire has been a strong supporter of Lake County, helping residents receive disaster assistance and moving various infrastructure projects forward. He played a large part in the recent land swap in Clearlake for the Lakeport Armory. McGuire has served as assistant majority leader for the past three years.
