Lake County Board of Supers Decides Against Closing Chambers Due to COVID

The Lake County Board of Supervisors at their meeting on Tuesday, decided against closing its chambers to the public again in response to concerns about the current Omicron variant surge across the country. Interim Public Health Officer Dr. Gary Pace also gave the board the first virus update of the year, and although he says the situation across the country and state is not good right now with cases surging, Pace said practicing all the COVID safety protocols is still the best choice. Interim Deputy Director for Health Services Jennifer Baker, said health services if working with the California Department of Public Health on sewage testing for COVID-19, with results expected back in early February.
