The pilot of a gyrocopter was killed yesterday in a crash yesterday near Lakeport. Witnesses reported the aircraft going down somewhere between the Konocti Vista Casino and South Main Street. Emergency personnel attempting to reach the crash site about a mile off shore were hampered by tules that were in some places 12 feet tall. The Sheriff’s office notified the FAA.
