The man who evaded Eugene authorities for over four months pleaded not guilty to five counts of burglary and attempted murder of a peace officer at his arraignment earlier in the week. William Allan Evers, also known as the Red Bearded Burglar, has two prior convictions and was wanted in connection with almost a dozen incidents in the area. Bail has been set at $2.5 million, and his preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 7th in Mendocino County Superior Court.
