“Red Bearded Burglar” Pleads Not Guilty to All Charges

The man who evaded Eugene authorities for over four months pleaded not guilty to five counts of burglary and attempted murder of a peace officer at his arraignment earlier in the week. William Allan Evers, also known as the Red Bearded Burglar, has two prior convictions and was wanted in connection with almost a dozen incidents in the area. Bail has been set at $2.5 million, and his preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 7th in Mendocino County Superior Court.
