SWAT Officers Injured in Latest Pursuit of Mendocino County Fugitive

Another attempt to locate a fugitive in Mendocino County happened on Monday and two SWAT officers were injured. Police have been searching for William Evers since May in connection to residential burglaries, and for firing a weapon at a deputy during a foot pursuit. There was an early morning search Monday in Albion following a possible sighting of Evers at an unoccupied residence in the 32000 block of Navarro Ridge. Evers was able to elude capture due to the darkness and rough terrain. During the search, one MCSO SWAT Team member and one MCSO SWAT Team K9 handler sustained injuries.
