Firefighters continued to hold and improve control lines on the Hopkins Fire in Mendocino County yesterday. The fire grew to 257 Acres and is 30 percent contained. Evacuations remain in effect and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is providing updates. The fire, which began near Hopkins Street and North State Street in Calpella, burned at least 10 homes, and caused significant damage to the Pomo recreational day-use area off Marina Drive.
