Board Rescinds Commercial Cannabis Activity Ordinance

Mendocino County’s Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to rescind the Commercial Cannabis Activity Land Use Development Ordinance that was adopted back in June. The move follows a successful referendum, initiated by The People’s Referendum to Save Our Water, Wildlife and Way of Life, that gave the board the choice of either rescinding the ordinance or putting it to a vote of the people. The ordinance would have expanded the allowable size of cannabis cultivation sites, and would have and opened more parcels to new cannabis cultivation in the county’s rangeland zone.
