A press conference on the Cache Creek Fire in Clearlake was held last night, as the city moves into recovery mode. The fast-moving 80-acre fire was destructive and caused the evacuation of 1,600 residents at the peak of the incident. According to an initial damage assessment, the fire destroyed 56 homes, 81 outbuildings and 158 vehicles. As of yesterday, 51 of the 56 destroyed homes had been cleared. At last night’s press conference, Supervisor Bruno Sabatier said the county will work with state and federal partners to help the city with recovery efforts.
