Residents in the hills east of Ukiah were evacuated yesterday afternoon after a fire that started on River Street at Highway 101 quickly spread east. The Highway Fire reached approximately 30 acres. Forward progress was stopped just after 5:30PM and repopulation was announced just before 6:30PM. CAL FIRE MEU assisted the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority with this fire in Ukiah.
