A single-vehicle accident south of Ukiah resulted in the death of one person and the injury of two. On Saturday, at approximately 1:35 AM, Ukiah Police Officers observed a vehicle running a red light at Gobbi Street and South State Street. The Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver sped off. Officers located the vehicle in the 4000 block of Burke Hill Road, where it had been involved in single-vehicle accident. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, one was airlifted to an out-of-area hospital, and the third was transferred to Ukiah Valley Medical Center. The circumstances of the collision are being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
