A couple of fires in Ukiah are being called suspicious. One was a vegetation fire that threatened a large apartment complex. The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority responded to the fire near the Summercreek Village Apartments on Village Circle shortly before 3PM yesterday. Two sheds in the former community garden area were destroyed as the fire moved south towards the complex. UVFA crews were able stop the forward progress and were assisted by Cal Fire personnel, and Hopland Fire crews.
A fire that started in the field near Kohl’s on North Orchard Avenue around 1:50 a.m. yesterday is also considered suspicious.
