The combined enforcement efforts of the Lakeport Police Department and Lakeport Fire Protection District resulted in the seizure of approximately 15 pounds of illegal fireworks and the arrest/citation of five people. In addition, police-maintained visibility in the problem areas and issued public education to other violators. All seized fireworks will be turned over to the fire marshal for safe destruction. A full after-action report will be presented to the Lakeport City Council in the future.
