Lake County will likely remain in the orange tier until the state ends its color-coded system on June 15. According to acting public health officer, Dr. Evan Bloom, what’s holding the county back is the percentage of the local population that has received a COVID-19 vaccine. Over 52% of Lake County residents 16 years old or older are partially or fully vaccinated. As for those 65 and older, 41% have not yet been vaccinated in the county.
