Ukiah Woman Sentenced for Embezzling from Former Employer

A Ukiah woman convicted of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from her former employer has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison. The Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office reports that 36-year-old Sonia Lau, of Ukiah, was given the maximum sentence after she entered eight “no-contest” pleas for charges related to the more than $200,000 embezzled from Ammo Plus, in what were described as “1,194 separate acts of theft.” Lau began embezzling in April 2014 and continued through April 2017.
