The City of Lakeport will continue working with a business consultant to attract retailers to the area. The Retail Coach was hired in 2020, but their work was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So far the consultants have analyzed the market, determined retail, development and redevelopment opportunities, and identified retailers and developers for recruitment. Going forward, the Retail Coach will work to recruit new businesses to Lakeport, and help with marketing and branding, downtown revitalization, filling the old Kmart building, and more.
