California’s leaders denounced events in the nation’s capitol yesterday when rioters supporting President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol. Congressman John Garamendi called it a blatant attack on American democracy. Congressman Mike Thompson said it was a very sad day for democracy. State Senator Mike McGuire said all Americans should be horrified and angered by these seditious acts. Governor Gavin Newsom called the mob violence an outright assault to our democracy. It took hours for police to clear the building. Last night, Congress is resumed the certification of the presidential election.
