UPD Arrest Parents for Child Endangerment

After a request to perform a welfare check on two children, UPD officers arrested the parents on multiple charges, including child endangerment. When police knocked on the door of the residence, the children, ages 7 and 3, answered the door and said their parents would not wake up. Officers found the father sleeping with pipe in his hand that is commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. They also found suspected heroin on a nearby nightstand. Officers contacted CPS and children are now in the care of other family members.
