Ukiah Volunteers On Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday saw 40 Valley Oak saplings that were started from acorns by students planted in Riverside Park.  Community Services Director Neil Davis said the planting was supervised by the Mendocino Land Trust.  Another group cleaned trash out of Orr Creek on Tuesday.  Volunteers from the Ukiah Valley Trail Group also worked on the Blue Oak Trail at Lake Mendocino, and yet another crew led by the California Native Plant Society worked on the Great Redwood Trail at Norton Street.  Director Davis also thanked the city’s Park Service workers who prepped for the day by bringing supplies and loading up all the trash picked up during the day.
