Proposed State Budget Targets 5 Urgent Needs

Saying the state faces a challenge the likes of which we never expected, Governor Gavin Newsom introduced a $227 billion dollar budget on Friday. He said it targets five urgent needs: Funding for vaccines, re-opening classrooms, 600-dollar stimulus checks, small business support and preparation for wildfires. His plan sets aside the most for schools, at about $90 billion. It also includes $1.7 billion in fresh investments would be made for housing the homeless.
