A person of interest in the abandonment of a two-year-old child and murder of a one-year-old has been officially charged. Edward Two Feathers Steele of Ukiah is being held responsible for the abandonment of care of the children and the one child’s subsequent death. Steele was seen with the children early Wednesday morning and then the children weren’t seen again until their discovery that afternoon. Steele was located in Hopland and apprehended. Anyone with information or video surveillance footage of the area between the 900 and 1500 block of North State Street, Mazzoni Street, or east of the Brush Street/North State Street intersection is asked to come forward.
