The National Weather Service is predicting “elevated” fire weather today and tomorrow in northeastern Mendocino County and eastern Lake County. Inland, a red flag warning has been issued across the northern Central Valley and into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. High winds, higher than average temperatures, and low relative humidity can create an environment that allows fires to start and spread rapidly.
