Lake County Approves Auction of Tax Defaulted Properties

An auction of 942 tax-defaulted properties was approved by the Lake County Board of Supervisors at their meeting yesterday. According to the Lake County News, normally there are
about 300 properties that go up for sale, but as of late, there’s been a push to have regular sales with the City of Clearlake mandating the sale of thousands of tax-defaulted properties within city limits. Clearlake at one point actually sued the county, saying state law was being violated by not pursuing sales of those in default in a timely manner. The sale will be online and is scheduled for May 27th.
