Department of Health Gives Report on COVID-19 Status in Area

At the most recent meeting of the Lake County Board of Supervisors, Public Health Officer Dr. Erik McLaughlin presented statewide data seeing statewide and in Lake County, increases in COVID activity. Moving from 1.5 to two percent positivity to 4.4 percent test positivity.  Public Health begins to take action if positivity is above 10%.  McLaughlin said the situation is not yet at emergent level but advises the public to continue to be aware and vigilant.  He said the current variants are not as deadly but are still highly contagious.
