At its meeting late last month, the Clearlake City Council heard a presentation regarding the annexation of 300 acres to the city’s eastern boundary and agreed to explore the proposal. The annexation of Lake Vista would be the first since Clearlake incorporated in 1980. After their application for a cannabis project was appealed by concerned residents, the Lake County Board of Supervisors denied the project, which is when the request for annexation was submitted to Clearlake. Investigation into the request will include determining cost of annexation and who would bear that cost.
