Arrest Made in 2020 Murder Case

An arrest has been made in a 2020 murder case. 44-year-old Christopher Jon McDonald, of Potter Valley, was arrested in connection to the killing of 48-year-old John Turner Dickerson, of Nice. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an area in the Mendocino National Forest on August 9th after human remains were discovered. An autopsy revealed the death was from a gunshot wound. Through the investigation, detectives determined McDonald was one of the last people seen with Dickerson before his death. During a search of of McDonald’s property, evidence was located and later tested that linked him to the murder.
