Attorney General Xavier Becerra filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit challenging Lake County’s approval and certification of an Environmental Impact Report for the Guenoc Valley Mixed Use Planned Development Project proposed for southeast Lake County. Becerra says inadequacies in the final EIR’s analysis of wildfire impacts have not been addressed. He says the design would exacerbate wildfire risk, increase the likelihood of wildfire ignition, and lacks adequate opportunities for evacuation in a wildfire.
