During their meeting today, the Ukiah City Council will consider moving forward with banning the retail sale of nitrous oxide canisters. Nitrous oxide is a gas used for sedation in medical procedures, but adults and youth often purchase the small canisters over the counter, or online, to get high. The City Council will look at creating an ordinance that would criminalize the sale, illegal use and possession of nitrous oxide in certain circumstances.
