State Shifting Vaccination Strategy

The state is shifting its vaccination strategy. Governor Gavin Newsom announced yesterday that the state will reserve 40% of all COVID-19 vaccines going forward to people living in areas that are generally low-income and have crowded housing. Specifically, they will be targeted for people living in roughly 400 ZIP codes who live in the lowest 25% of the census tracts ranked in the California Healthy Places index. Targeted zip codes in Lake County include Clearlake, Clearlake Oaks, Finley, Lucerne, Nice and Upper Lake.
