The Ukiah High School campus was evacuated yesterday afternoon after a vegetation fire broke out about a mile west of the school. According to CalF ire Mendonico Unit, the Gap Fire Incident, in the area of the 1500 block of Low Gap Road, was contained to 3 acres with two additional small spots.

During their meeting yesterday, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to declare a local emergency due to the Hopkins Fire.
