Lakeport Police Department Implements Police Dog Program

The Lakeport Police Department has been without a police dog since 2009, but they’ve implemented a new program with Police K-9 Olin and his handler, Officer Kaylene Strugnell. Olin is trained in narcotic detection including methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine, as well as patrol certification including suspect tracking and apprehension.

Mower Sparked Broiler Fire

The Broiler Fire was sparked by a lawn mower. A statement released by Flow Cannabis, said the fire originated on their property, after the blades of a mower, operated by their employee, struck rock, causing a spark. The 80-acre fire destroyed three homes in Redwood Valley.
