A Fort Bragg man has been sentenced on six felony counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts upon a Child under the age of Fourteen Years. Thursday, Tomas Yah Pool, age 56 was sentenced to a total of 123 years to life in prison.

Sonoma County Firefighter Arrested in Mendocino County

A CalFire fire apparatus engineer has been arrested in Mendocino County on suspicion of setting five fires in the areas around Geyserville, Healdsburg, and Windsor. Midweek last week, firecrews responded to a vegetation fire that started in the 10500 block of Seigler Canyon Road, west of Lower Lake. The Seigler Fire started early evening in grassy oak woodlands. Lake County Unemployment Rate Remains Flat

The state’s jobless rate rose slightly in August, however Lake County’s rate remained flat. Unemployment in August remained at 6.1% for the second month in a row. Lake County’s jobless rate was 5.6% this time last year.

Lake County Board of Supervisors Meets Tuesday at 9 am.

The Lake County Board of Supervisors will meet tomorrow Tuesday at 9am and will consider approval of the final budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year and consider a hike in water rates for residents of Spring Valley. The board will also hold a public hearing at 2pm regarding the rate hike for Spring Valley Lakes.
