Red Flag Warning Posted for Today, PG&E Power Shutoffs Scheduled

A red flag warning is posted for today. The National Weather Services says a combination of strong winds, dry conditions, and warm temperatures could make for fires to start easily and spread rapidly. Isolated wind gusts could reach 50 mph. PG&E’s Public Safety Power shutoff is expected between 3 and 6 p.m. today and is anticipated to involve 168 Lake County customers and 10 Mendocino County customers who are among 28,000 customers in 30 Northern California counties. In Lake County, the shutoff is focused mostly around Hidden Valley Lake, some areas near Middletown and Cobb, and areas east of Clearlake Oaks, particularly Spring Valley. There will be two community resource centers open today from noon to 10 pm, one at Live Oaks Senior Center in Clearlake Oaks and the other at the Hidden Valley Lake Association Donkey Hill Road.
