Plaintiff in Civil Case Against Former Ukiah PD Sergeant Awarded 1 Million Dollars

Former Ukiah Police Sergeant Kevin Murray has been ordered to pay $1 million to the woman he raped twice by the Mendocino Superior Court. Corinne Johnson filed suit in December of 2022 after Murray had been let go from the force. The filing named both Murray and the Ukiah Police Department as defendants, however the judge in the case ruled that the rapes occurred when Murray was off duty and therefore Johnson’s attorney amended the filing to exclude the city.
