Law Enforcement Called to Confrontation In Laytonville Involving Crowd

Law enforcement was called to Laytonville Elementary School last night after an altercation between about 20 people who confronted a local man, accusing him of sex crimes against an underage resident. The man began making suicidal statements and attempted to flee the area and those in the crowd held him at the scene until law enforcement arrived. Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and Fish and Wildlife deployed to the situation with full lights and sirens. The crowd was calmed and statements were processed.
