At the first meeting of the year, the Lake County Board of Supervisors tomorrow at 9 a.m., will begin its session with the election of the chair and vice chair of the board and several other board directors, then swear in newly elected officers. The LakeCountyNews reports the board will also hold a second reading of the proposal to give board members a 40% raise. If approved, the raises go into effect around March 10th. The board will consider a number of final agreements and promissory notes to allow construction to move forward on the Collier Avenue Housing Project in Nice, and also a proclamation declaring the existence of a local emergency due to persistent drought, habitat loss, and potential extinction of the Clear Lake Hitch, a fish found only in the lake and its tributaries.
