UPD officers saved a woman escape from a fire. On May 8th Ukiah Police were advised that UVFA was responding to a structure fire on South State Street. The roof of the residence was fully engulfed in flames, and the fire was spreading to an attached carport. Officers heard a woman inside a room in the carport calling for help. Officers entered the burning carport and got to the woman who was by a window that she could not open. The officers forced the window open and the woman was able to exit through it. The officers were not injured, the woman was treated for smoke inhalation.
