Governor Gavin Newsom declared a drought state of emergency for Mendocino County this week, and the Board of Supervisors did so as well. The local declaration may make the county eligible for state and federal funding which would be used to get through this year’s drought, as well as fund improvements to infrastructure in preparation for future droughts.
