The Lakeport Unified School Board is working on a plan to address its deficit caused in part by an ongoing decline in enrollment. A 2020-21 budget report showed a structural deficit regarding the district’s ability to meet its financial obligations in 2022-23. The district may lay off at least one teacher and is looking at reductions in services and supplies.
