During this week’s City Council Meeting, the Lakeport Police Department presented a crime report. In 2020, the department received had 5,820 calls for service and had a total of 9,093 incidents within the city limits. According to Lakeport Chief of Police Brad Rasmussen, that’s about 300 fewer total incidents than in 2019. He said calls and crime rates went down last year in part because of shutdowns from COVID-19. There were 174 misdemeanor arrests in Lakeport, compared to 300 in 2019.
