Pacific Gas and Electric Company crews have been working since last night to restore power following a powerful winter storm. As of this morning, hundreds of customers in Lake and Mendocino Counties were still without power. See the latest on the outage map at PGE.com.
The storm caused the closure of highways in both counties and downed trees and power lines. At around 4:40PM yesterday, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office announced that Highway 101 was open all the way through Mendocino County. CalTrans said road crews spent hours clearing snow and cutting through tree limbs to clear the roadway. More stormy conditions are forecast with rain today and over the weekend.
