A mobile home was destroyed by fire in Ukiah yesterday. The owner of the home in the Rancho Del Rey mobile home park came home to find smoke in his residence and fire in his bedroom. According to Ukiah Valley Fire Authority’s Battalion Chief, the fire was accidental and appears to have started when a battery charger that was left on caught fire. One of the three cats living inside the home was found deceased. While firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading, nearby homes sustained some damage from the heat.
