A home and an outbuilding were destroyed and another outbuilding was damaged in a fire early yesterday morning at 1431 W. Highway 20 in Upper Lake. According to the Northshore Fire Protection District Fire Chief, the structures appeared to be abandoned and no injuries were reported. The fire was reported just before 12:30 a.m.. Firefighters had it controlled in about an hour and a half, and were able to save one of the outbuildings. Approximately 20 personnel from the NFPD responded to the scene with two engines and one dozer. CAL FIRE assisted with a water tender and three engines while the Lakeport Fire Protection District responded with two chiefs, a water tender and an engine. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
