New details have emerged about what may have caused a fatal accident on Highway 101 that killed a father and his 3-year old daughter last week. The driver who hit the family on Highway 101 just south of Burke Hill Road may have been playing with the radio. The possible involvement of drugs or alcohol in the accident was also still under investigation. The driver was booked at the Mendocino County Jail on the day of the accident on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, posted $50,000 bail. The mother and 1-year-old daughter, who were passengers in the car that was hit, survived the crash and were taken by ambulance to Ukiah Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.
