Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs are available to the city of Lakeport, and administrators want your opinion on what they should apply for. A “Notice of Funding Availability” (NOFA) has been published, and eligible cities and counties may apply for the CDBG funds. Funds could go towards homeownership assistance and housing rehabilitation programs; public facility and public improvement projects; public service programs; planning studies; economic development business assistance and microenterprise activities. The activities must meet one or more of the three national objectives listed in CDBG federal statutes as follows: benefit to low-income households or persons; elimination of slums or blight or meeting urgent community development need. A public hearing will be held at the Lakeport City Hall Conference Room on March 27 at 3 p.m.
