A Ukiah man who attempted to kill a Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to 183 years to life in prison. A Mendocino County Superior Court Judge issued the sentencing to Walter Miller yesterday. Miller, was convicted of attempting to shoot Deputy Darren Brewster on Feb. 25, 2013. Miller and Christopher Skaggs were in a chase when Miller leaned out of the window firing several shot at Brewster’s patrol car.
