The city of Ukiah is installing new safety features on a crosswalk on South State Street. The features are designed to help pedestrians get across the busy street. The Public Works Department will install advanced yield lines and signs that consist of a row of triangles that designate where vehicles are supposed to stop when there is a person using the crosswalk. The triangles are designed to provide better visibility between motorists and pedestrians, and are being installed as a test case.
