Son of Mendocino County Sheriff’s Officer Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

he son of a Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant has been arrested and charged with alleged possession of materials depicting sexual conduct involving children.  Sheriff Matt Kendall was first notified about the crimes in late October 2019 by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.  The IP address connected to the images of children was traced to the residence of Lt. Joseph J.D. Corner.  Internal affairs investigated and cleared Lt. Corner.  At that point, the investigation was transferred to the Sacramento Sheriff’s office.  In January of this year, Lt. Corner’s son Bailey was ordered to appear.  Sheriff Kendall did not issue a press release as the investigation was through Sacramento.  The Sacrament Sheriff’s office has not yet responded to an inquiry on the case.  Lt. Corner was informed of the arrest of Bailey Corner, since he is not an employee, will not affect Lt. Corner’s position with the Sheriff’s office.
