Mendocino Railway Appeals Judges Ruling, Changes Focus from Development to Restoration

At the end of April, the Mendocino County Superior Court rejected the Mendocino Railway’s request to dismiss Fort Bragg’s lawsuit against them and the railway then announced it would then suspend most of its redevelopment efforts in that area. In a press release from earlier this month, the railway is now appealing that ruling and will also focus on securing funding to reopen the tunnel between Willits and Fort Bragg and to perform extensive environmental restoration to the Mill site. The press release stated that Fort Bragg’s opposition to any other development of that property has been made clear.
