Daly City Man Leads CHP, Police On Chase

A Daly city man was arrested earlier this week by the California Highway Patrol following a traffic stop that led to a high-speed chase. Luis Mendoza-Gonzaga stopped for speeding. He admitted he didn’t have a license. The officer then asked Mendoza-Gonzaga for his keys but instead of handing them over, he sped away in his vehicle. The subsequent chase reached speeds of 120 mph. CHP ended the chase after Mendoza-Gonzaga drove off the freeway. Members of the public identified him and he was found a short time later. He’s been charged with numerous violations, including vehicle theft and evading officers.
