Ukiah Airport Reopens After Paving Project Complete

Ukiah Regional Airport is open again after a major runway project is complete. The runway paving project was long overdue. The original runway paving at the Ukiah Municipal Airport was completed in 1942. In 1984, the runway and taxiways were repaved. A slurry seal project was completed in 1997 on the runway and taxiways. The current pavement had been in place for 35 years and hwas showing sign of wear and a need for replacement. Funding for the nearly $4 million dollar runway paving project came from the Federal Aviation Administration.
